I was probably about five or six years old. My cousin Jonathan was going to church camp, and invited me to go along. We were best buds at the time, and I had never really been to “camp” before, so I decided I would tag along. The car ride there was exciting. I was so happy and felt so grown up… until I got there. I cried on the camp leaders lap for about an hour! After a lot of tears and what seemed like hundreds of reassuring words, I calmed down and was able to join the others. By the second day, I was having a blast and just had to write home about it! With my favorite Cheetah Lisa Frank pen, paper, and envelope, I began my letter with, “ Dear Mom and Dad, I am having a goad tome…” I couldn’t spell for the life of me. What I thought was going to be a sweet letter home about my "good time," turned out to be an excuse for my family to tease me. So, every once in awhile, when I’ve come back from hanging out with a friend or seeing a movie, one of my family members will ask me if I had a goad tome (:

Day 4: If only I could spell...
Alright, so here is one of my family's favorite stories to tease me about. Despite the fact that I get grief about this alllllll the time, I really did have a good time on this trip!

P.S.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea why the text doesn't match...my bad.
I think your letter even left out the word "am." It said, "I having a goad tome." Love it! :)
